Apollo Code of conduct

Youth sports programs play a vital role in promoting the physical, social and emotional development of children. It is of utmost importance for all adults involved in youth sports events to embrace and model for our youth athletes the elements of good sportsmanship; it is our responsibility to lead by example by demonstrating fairness, respect, and self-control.

I, therefore, pledge to take responsibility for my words and actions while attending or participating in Apollo Lacrosse events and shall ensure that my behavior aligns with the following code of conduct:

  1. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of youth players ahead of a personal desire to win.

  2. I will respect players, coaches, officials, spectators, and families at all times.

  3. I will respect the decisions of officials or coaches.

  4. I will not engage in any violence or verbal threats, or use of profanity.

  5. I will not yell advice to my child during a game.

  6. I will model good sportsmanship for all youth participants.

  7. I will not belittle or ridicule anyone involved in a youth sporting event: in public, in private, in person, or virtually/online.

  8. I will do my part to keep the focus of events fun and positive for all participants.

  9. I will observe and respect the “24-hour rule”.

    1. Parents/guardians are not allowed to confront a coach, team,or player to discuss any “negative” game or practice situation(s) with the Coaches until at least 24 hours has passed from the completion of the game or practice.

I understand that if I fail to conform my conduct to the above while attending or participating in Apollo Lacrosse events, I will be subject to disciplinary action. This includes, but is not limited to the following, in any order or combination:

  1. Verbal and/or written warning issued by Apollo Lacrosse.

  2. Suspension or immediate ejection from an Apollo Lacrosse event issued by an Apollo Lacrosse owner who is authorized to issue such suspension or ejection.
